Jackson was a partner at Sert, Jackson and Associates, an architectural firm in Cambridge, and an architecture professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. His long career included university, institutional and housing projects around the world, including the University of Guelph in Ontario. Tyrwhitt was a South African born planner and landscape designer who worked mainly in Britain, but also taught at Harvard. Her article in the April 1959 issue of Canadian Architect analyzed the use of space by several competitors in the City Hall competition.
