At the end of August, 1966, week-old Antoinette Ouellette was welcomed as the country’s 20 millionth citizen.

In 1968, Carol Jane Tidd was the first baby born in Scarborough during Canada’s centennial year. A trust fund was set up for her by Scarborough council.

Tran and her husband immigrated to Canada from Vietnam six years earlier.

In October of 1992, Markham quadruplets and young Blue Jay fans, Katie, Louise, Emma and Michael celebrate their first birthday in full regalia, thanks to parents Mary and Frank Gallagher.

Catherine DeLuca, being cuddled by her mother, Lydea, was Metro Toronto’s first baby of 1971. Catherine was born 2 seconds after midnight at Queensway General Hospital. 

Spetla and George Marzouk welcomed their son Stephan at 12:26 a.m. on New Year's Day, 1982. 

David Lynch greets his newborn son. The baby, Toronto’s first of 1990, was born to Tanya Lundrigan at 12:01 a.m. on January 1st.

Baldit and Gurmett Singh of Rexdale became proud parents of a 7 pound, 8 ounce boy at 12:06 a.m. on New Year’s Day in 1996, at Etobicoke General.
