O is for opera

The library’s Special Collections include a fascinating collection of materials which document performing arts in Canada.

The collection includes sheet music, correspondence, posters and playbills, photographs, prints and engravings, programs and stage designs. Evocative costume and set designs created by award-winning designers for Canadian opera productions are among the most prized items in this collection.

Visit the exhibit in person to see costume designs by Teresa Przybylski for the Odyssey Theatre, Ottawa production of Turandot (1995). Teresa Przybylski is an award-winning stage designer who has designed for the Stratford Festival, Shaw Festival, and the Canadian Opera Company.
