Description
Between the 1940s and 1970s, Latvian-American photographer Philippe Halsman’s portraits of celebrities, intellectuals and politicians graced the covers of LIFE. This photo of Salvador Dali waiting for inspiration is one of three Halsman portraits of the surrealist artist in the Toronto Star Photograph Archive.
