Description
On April 19, 1904, fire broke out on Wellington Stree, just west of Bay Street. The fire burned for 9 hours before it was brought under control. By the end, 104 buildings were destroyed.
This image shows the aftermath of the fire, taken from the top of the Custom House, looking west along Front street.
