This map shows the property of John Simcoe Macaulay in 1845. During his lifetime he donated this property to the of Holy Trinity Church. The Church of the Holy Trinity still stands behind the Eaton Centre. John Simcoe Macaulay (1791-1855) was named after his godfather, Lt. Gov. John Graves Simcoe. Courtesy of Toronto Public Library
