Paul Henderson winning goal in the Canada-Russia Summit Series

Frank Lennon of the Toronto Star snapped this iconic moment of hockey history – Paul Henderson leaping in the air after scoring Canada’s winning goal against the Soviet Union in game 8 of the 1972 Summit Series. Millions of Canadians watched as Henderson scored the goal with just 34 seconds left on the clock. The image earned Frank Lennon a National Newspaper Award.
